We plan on taking 2 days to drive up to Yellowstone and camp at the Headwaters Campground just south of the Yellowstone South entrance. We will stay there from Sept 13 to the 17th and then head south to camp at Gros Ventre Campground, close to Moose and Jackson. We will camp there for 4 nights also and then head home. You are welcome to adjust the trip to any length of time. To make a reservation at the campground, go to Grandtetonlodgecompany.com and look for the Headwaters Lodge and Campground. If you are camping, you must make your own reservation, but in the “comments” section make a note that you would like to be near the Marquarts. The second campground, Gros Ventre does not take reservations, but it is quite large and there should be no problem getting a spot.
If you are not a camper, but would like to go, The Headwaters Lodge does have “camper cabins” which are rustic or “cabins” which have more amenities. Go to the Grandtetonlodgecompany.com website for more info and to make reservations. When the campers move to the Gros Ventre campground, I suggest you get a room in Jackson.
